HKU-INALCO Real Talk

In this project, students of the HKU French Programme interact in French and Putonghua with Chinese learners at the Department of Chinese at the Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (INALCO) in Paris, through the online SpeakShake video-calling platform.

The project
This project aims to give students of the French programme at HKU and the Department of Chinese at INALCO the opportunity to meet and chat online using both French and Chinese (Putonghua). 

SpeakShake
SpeakShake is an, interactive online video-calling platform, allowing language learners to chat with a native speaker for 30 minutes in the two languages (15 minutes in French and 15 minutes in Mandarin).

INALCO
Established in 1169, in Paris, the Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales (often called Langues O’) is a French institution teaching languages that span Central Europe, Africa, Asia, America, and Oceania. INALCO is considered as being the best institution in which to learn oriental languages in France.
